My Digital SLR(Big camera I use to shoot cosplay pix since 2005) have been damaged(CRACKED BODY and LCD PANEL) and was sent to Hospital for repairs...be expecting it to return after maybe two months.
My spare DSLR is loaded to a friend who need it, her DSLR also sent to Hospital but rather serious case involving the sensitive electronics inside the camera.
So I'm stuck with my small compact digicam but I still have my film SLR Equivalents and a few lenses at my disposal. So I'll need to be careful with my shots(cannot shoot like AK47 like in digital) and its gonna cost me RM5 per roll for negative processing only. Instead of letting the photo shops dictate my pictures...I decide to scan de negatives myself(I got a negative film scan function flatbed scanner btw)
Instead of worrying about not getting to shoot anything, I got to learn something new from this predicament. Also a friend of mine is chipping me with additional film camera bodies as well as rolls of unused film F.O.C. ^~^
But I noticed since the extreme usage of digital cameras, some people have looked upon film with disdain. I heard one to me
"WHAT? YOU STILL USE FILM NOW?"
Another friend of mine even said
"YOUR SHOTS ARE SPECIAL! THEY NEED TO BE PROCESSED WHILE MINE DOESN'T NEED TO"
I do sense a faint scent of sarcasm there
I wonder, how would they feel if they were in my shoes? Will they scream in terror when digital is not available?
Anyway...just a little ranting but hopefully not that much. I'm now looking up to MR PANG PIAU KAN from Penang, International Award Winning Photographer that use Film Cameras without the benefit of anything Digital.
